POOR HOME: The Devastanam maintains an Orphanage for 107 orphan boys and 43 deaf and dumb boys. They are given free education, books, food, accommodation and medicalaid.The Devastanam also maintains an Asylum of old persons. The number of inmates is 13.

SCHOOL OF THE VARAM MUSIC: The Thvara Isai Palli maintained by the Devastanam teaches traditional The varamhymns in the recognised Panns and trains them to become Oduvaars.

CHILDREN'S CRECHE: The Devastanam maintains in a building near the Pattathu Vunayaga Temple inthe heart of the town, a Children's Creche for pre-school children (agegroup 2+ to 5). They are given milk, lunch, biscuits and medical aid, free of charge. Pre-school education and facilities for play are provided. This institution is a boon to working poor parents who cannot afford to keep servants at home.

VEDASIVA AGAMA SCHOOL: Since 1959, the Devastanam runs this institution to give five years of intensive training in temple pooja service, performance of Tamil Archana, conducting kumbabishekams and other festivals etc. The young men who join this course are given training, food, dress, accommodation and medical aid, free of charge. So far 71 persons and above have been issued diplomas.
